Maris is a belly dancer from Estonia, who has been studying oriental dance since 2005 and started working and teaching this art form in 2011. Her latest dance contracts were in Sharm El Sheikh, Dubai and now Cairo. In addition to belly dancing she was performing with international show and Egyptian folklore groups in Sharm El Sheikh. Also she had a good Egyptian folklore experience in Dubai where after her own dance show she performed different folklore styles with an Egyptian dance partner.
Before starting work in Arabic countries, she was teaching and performing in the biggest oriental dance studio in Estonia and also had her own dance company and regular classes. Maris has visited many dance festivals (in Sweden, Greece, Italy, Egypt etc) as a student but also as a teacher and judge (in Estonia and Finland) and also placed in various competitions ( last attendance was 3rd place in Nile Group festival in Cairo, summer 2015).
In addition to oriental styles and folklore, Maris has also taken regular classes of salsa, ballroom, contemporary, bollywood and tribal fusion.
Although having learned many styles of belly dance, Maris prefers Egyptian style to all else and always improvisation to choreography but sees the latter as a great tool for learning.
Her main place of shows in Cairo is the famous Blue Nile boat and she also performs in weddings in Cairo and other cities in Egypt.
